Established by Adaptive Sports Ohio, Ohio Interscholastic Adaptive Sports (OIAS) is the governing body for interscholastic wheelchair basketball. OIAS oversees all aspects of interscholastic wheelchair basketball, including the rules, scheduling, and post season.


The interscholastic wheelchair basketball league exists for the sole purpose of providing students with physical disabilities an opportunity to play and benefit from interscholastic sports.

The interscholastic wheelchair basketball season follows the OHSAA basketball timeline and adheres to NFHS and OHSAA basketball rules, with slight modifications. Wheelchair basketball games follow the standard high school format, featuring five players from each team on the court, along with coaches, a scorekeeper, spectators, and a minimum of two officials.
